Common questions

How does an umbrella policy work?

When a covered liability claim exceeds the limit of your auto or home policy, the umbrella pays the rest, up to its own limit. Some umbrellas also cover certain claims the underlying policies do not.

Do I need specific limits on my other policies?

Yes. Umbrella carriers require minimum liability limits on your underlying auto and home policies, and you must keep them in force.
